Volunteers Site Visit:
The rollout has been done to the CARE volunteers and trip to the RDF schools was organized by Infor CARE on 10th September 2011 to see and understand the organization and its  commitment to transform the rural areas into modern villages.  After the visit, entire team is thoroughly convinced that construction of the school building is the right step forward in our support to the education in rural areas.

Here are some of the moments that Infor CARE Volunteers experienced during the visit to RDF schools.
There are 3 schools and 1 Junior college in 30 KM radius. The team visited all the schools and Junior college and spent more time in Wadlakonda Village School where the building is proposed.
This is the school building of RDF KALLEDA School, Kalleda Village, Parvathagiri Mandal, Warangal Dist. This building is given away to school by the Errabelli family.

High School students gave Guard of Honor to our volunteers, followed by class room’s visit, to know the various activities, teaching methodologies, followed by interaction with the students.

Activities:
These are some of the activities performed by the students.

Yoga
This activity is done to keep the body strong, flexible ,stress relief and increase mind power.

Archery
This is one of the rare activities that we find.  But this school provides  training for archery , and some of the students participated in the  National competitions.

Snap of a Snap. Praneeta who represented India in Beijing Olympics in 2008 was trained in Archery by RDF.

Dance
Students performing Traditional  LAMBADA dance. This is the popular dance in this region.

Science fair

Mid-Day Meal
Nutritious Mid Day Meal provided by the school is generally the best meal for many students in a day.

Farming

The students themselves  do farming. Major chunck of Rice which they use for lunch is grown by the students.

School

This is the school at Wadlakonda Village, where the students have the same talent  and spirit. But there is no proper infrastructure for them to study, in the picture you can see the children studying under the  trees and temporary sheds. So let us all get together to help the blooming buds for their bright future by constructing the school building. This Temple of Education will serve more than 350 students per year and for many decades with Very Good Quality of Education.

Volunteers Comments:

“It was one of the most memorable trip we had ever experienced.  RDF is doing an excellent work in creating the dreams of the upcoming students by showing them a brighter future”

“The discipline, the way of teaching and the respect earned by RDF is formidable”

“RDF schools are Telugu Medium Schools. But we were  amazed by  the way they spoke in English. With education they are teaching ethical values, general awareness, at home how to give helping hand to parents, extracurricular activities like yoga, archery, sports, dance etc…”

This trip is just the beginning and many trips will follow to make this project successful.

Duration:

Depends on the amount being donated by the employees, to start with, it will be 10 months.

Donation: Starts at Rs. 100 to Rs. <your choice>. If the average donation per employee is Rs.500/- then the project can be accomplished in 10 months.

Conclusion:  Infor CARE Volunteers are thoroughly convinced about the school building proposal . We can start the collection of fund.

Infor CARE earnestly requests everyone to be part of this project and support with generous heart to make this a success and shape up thousands of lives in years to come. Your contribution will help not just one child or for just one year but for thousands of children and for many years to come.

Vision of Infor CARE - RDF Project

“To support the underprivileged sections of the society to access quality education”

We believe that poverty is a vicious cycle and that access to education is the most successful way to break out. To give children knowledge is to give them something that will remain with them forever, something no one can take away or destroy.

Recognizing this fact Infor CARE would like to support and shape young minds of the next generation by constructing a School Building as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity 2011- 2012.

This initiative will help thousands of students over decades, who are deprived of basic education even now in this fast moving world. This gesture of ours will make a significant difference in our rural areas and thousands of students will get educated resulting in transforming our rural villages to modern villages.

Know more about RDF

The Rural Development Foundation (RDF) is a nonprofit organization that began as a family initiative. As far back as 1991, members of the Errabelli family discussed the idea of wanting to give something back to their village of Kalleda. They felt a need to repay their debt to the land that had provided their family with wealth over several generations.
Members of the Errabelli family recognized that their successes in life were largely due to their access to quality education. Thus in 1996, they inaugurated the first RDF school in the estate building that had once housed the family. At its inception, RDF was an organization involved in not only educating the children of the village, but also improving infrastructure, healthcare, and more. Gradually, RDF became more and more focused on changing society through education, although family members still remain very involved in other aspects of developing the area.
Since 1996, RDF has narrowed its focus to schools providing quality education and producing socially conscious leaders. It has also expanded to include other areas of Andhra Pradesh. There are now five RDF schools and one junior college spread over three different districts. RDF will not expand to any more schools until all six of its current institutions are operating sustainably at a high level of excellence. Another focus of RDF is to now move away from a family organization and instead focus on becoming a sustainable business-like non profit organization. This transition has included new branding, staff, and strategic vision.

Vision: To promote education as a vehicle for rural development
Mission: To make a lifelong difference to the lives of rural underprivileged girls and boys through holistic education
Goal: To educate, engage and empower rural children and youth

THE INFOR CARE – RDF PROJECT

Education is humanity’s best hope and most effective means in the quest to achieve sustainable development. Child education plays an important part in this regard. To give knowledge to the children is to give them something that will remain with them forever. It is particularly important that children in poor and under developed regions are enabled to taste the fruits of education.

Infor CARE, in association with Rural Development Foundation (RDF) a non profit organization with the mission of providing quality education for underprivileged rural children, is taking a positive step in this direction. We have decided to partner and support RDF in improving the infrastructure of a school in a remote village called Wadlakonda, in Warangal District. This ambitious initiative called the Infor CARE – RDF Project, once realized, will provide education to over 350 such children every year.

As part of this project a new school building will be constructed at Wadlakonda village by Infor CARE and handed over to RDF. This school will be called the RDF School. The school will house 25 class rooms and 5 rooms for amenities in a 2 storey building and also have a play ground and a vegetable farm which supplies food for the school’s mid-day meal program.

About 25 Infor CARE volunteers visited RDF school near Warangal and also the site of the proposed school building on 10 September, 2011 to collect first hand information on the project proposal. To support this good cause, Infor CARE is looking forward to contributions from each one of us.
